I must admit, seeing the Outbreaker-Bowfirst announced on Snapchat, didnt excite me all that much as it appeared to be just another unoriginal, gimmicky blaster. Now that Ive got my hands on the Out-Breaker Bow, lets see if it can possibly offer more than just being another revolver blaster.

Five zombiestrike darts are included with the Outbreaker Bow. An instruction sheet is also included. Bow-arms are required to be attached to the blaster. The bow arms will not be removable once they have been attached on.

This blaster, like the Zombiestrike Clampdown is made to look as if it were made in the toolshed. Its filled with nuts, bolts, pliers and even the priming handle is meant to be a pair of scissors! This Nerf design is great! It creates a stronger zombie apocalypse feel. This blaster is a grey trigger model so some colours may differ from the orange standard trigger blaster.

This blaster’s ergonomics are where it fails. Usually a handle of a Nerf blaster is curved in a way to fit the users hands but with the Out-Breaker Bow, its not the same. It feels like all the weight is on your middle finger when you hold the blaster, making it uncomfortable to hold. The hand-guard is another gripe of mine, as it doesnt give your wrist much freedom space (image below, displays my point). In fact, the whole backend of the blaster is useless, since nobody is going to restthe butt of the blaster on their shoulder. It is unlikely that even a small child would do this. The holes in the scissors are small so your fingers will pinch when you pull the plunger back. One tactical rail is included on the bow’s top.

This blaster works as you would expect. To prime the blaster, load 5 darts into the cylinder (yes, one more than the Strongarm). Then pull the scissors back. The cylinder, drum or barrel, however you call it, doesn’t flip like a Strongarm.

Many Zombiestrike blasters, particularly the grey trigger ones, have had poor performance. I am happy to report that the Out-Breaker Bow performs as well as elite blasters.

Flat shots are usually between 12-13 meters in length, which is similar to a Strongarm.

Verdict

Many of you will be thinking that I am happy with my Strongarm/Hammershot, so why do I need another revolver. You are correct. The only reason why anyone would purchase this blaster is either because they havent already got a Nerf revolver or they really appreciate the aesthetics of the blaster. This is definitely the best Nerf crossbow blaster. For two reasons. 1. 2. The Crossfire-Bow is a weak blaster. If you are a big fan of Crossbows, the Out-Breaker Bow is a good choice. This blaster is available at K-Mart in Australia and the US. The price of a Hammer-Shot and Strongarm is high. I would recommend waiting a bit longer to buy the Out-Breaker Bow at AUD.
